Kaisu Koski’s City Reindeer to screen on Sheffield Live! TV on Christmas Day

19 Dec 2022

Dr. Kaisu Koski’s short film City Reindeer (2022) will be screened at Inheritance Environmental Festival between December 21-31 through Sheffield Live!, Northern Visions Belfast, KMTV Kent and Latest TV in Brighton.

City Reindeer will show on Sheffield Live as one of 7 shorts on Christmas Day and repeat on New Year’s Eve, between 9pm and 10.30pm both days. Tune in to www.sheffieldlive.org/tv.

Associate Professor Kaisu Koski is a cross-disciplinary artist and humanities scholar. She developed this work during a month-long art and science residency at Kilpisjärvi Biological Station in Finland in January 2022, supported by Research England’s E3 programm and Ars Bioarctica. Ars Bioarctica, an art & science program, focusses on the sub-arctic environment together with the Kilpisjärvi Biological Station of the University of Helsinki.

Rather than a matter of carbon reduction, City Reindeer considers the climate crisis a relationship problem. This series of interspecies picnics aims to begin restoring relationships with the nonhuman, starting with our relative, the Reindeer.
