Marney Walker and Life Story Network’s My Home Matters toolkit poster

24 Nov 2022

Lab4Living Phd student Marney Walker has joined forces with Life Story Network to present a poster about their latest toolkit ‘My Home Matters’. The poster was presented at the UK Dementia Congress, hosted by the Journal of Dementia Care at Aston University Conference Centre on 8th and 9th November.

The My Home Matters toolkit explores the meaning of ‘home’ for people with dementia and their carers. It follows on from a project funded by the Department of Health in England as part of their post-diagnostic support programme.

This work is a collaboration with Penny Redwood at Vision For Dementia which, it is hoped, will lead to joint workshops to support people with a dementia diagnosis to think about future home and transitions. The work relates to Marney’s PhD research project I know what I like to be that uses everyday objects, and explores colour choice and favourite spaces in the home.
