SHINDIG, The Sheffield Dementia Involvement Group, is a group which meets quarterly to offer people with dementia and their supporters the opportunity to have their voice heard around a particular topic. Emphasis is placed on helping people feel welcome, safe and free to say what they want to. Opinions are shared in facilitated discussions which are recorded and then used to inform a report. This is shared with relevant stakeholders in attempt to bring change.
Lab4Living welcomed SHINDIG to the White Building in July 2022 where they held a recent planning meeting.
“We were welcomed to a spacious environment with good lighting, modern features and adequate peace and quiet. This was appreciated by attendees and resulted in everyone being able to contribute and be heard.”
