This enquiry challenges existing conceptualisations of the way information is provided to people with dementia about their condition and the role of design, creative writing and graphics in this. It asks the question, supposing rather than being given a medical description of what dementia is on diagnosis that individuals are provided with a book of images and quotes written by people living with dementia and these become the medium through which the person with dementia and their family ‘discover’ dementia together.
