Creative Research Assistant on the ORIGIN Project.

About

Shakthi Thyagarajan is currently a creative research assistant working on ORIGIN, an NIHR funded collaborative research initiative that seeks to enhance mental health support for underrepresented young people aged 16 to 24 through online arts & culture. Her work largely focuses on co-designing an online platform featuring hidden stories highlighting the unique experiences of underrepresented groups such as those with LGBTQ+, ethnic minority & neuro-diverse backgrounds.  

Shakthi’s work employs a large range of design skills to creatively tell these stories in an impactful way through proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite & includes animation, digital & physical illustrations, layout design, podcast production, videography & visual storytelling.

Shakthi’s practice is heavily influenced by her background in Journalism Studies, particularly in areas of research & creative writing. Shakthi’s past experience as Marketing Director & Deputy Editor at Forge Press has enabled her to take on further PR roles at Lab4Living as well.
