About
I am a design researcher and PhD candidate at Lab4Living (Sheffield Hallam university UK) working in the field of design technology in health to create meaningful solutions for condition-specific challenges. I’ve worked at Lab4Living for five years on a range of health-related projects. My background is in product design, and I use the designing and making of objects and technologies to translate and trial different concepts in a 3D medium with co-design being central to my approach. My work ranges from medical devices and wearable technologies to condition specific resource packs and service design. Outcomes are co-designed with relevant stakeholders from the outset, to help ensure that the interventions accurately identify needs and address them. My PhD is exploring how co-designed technology could support the more invisible aspects of a child’s long-term condition. I’m exploring this topic through two condition specific case studies: Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and Cerebral Palsy. It is part-time over five years, aiming to finish in early 2027.
