Prof Claire Craig is currently being hosted by Patricia Da Cunha Belchior and McGill University in Montreal following a successful application to the Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation.
The focus of the visit is to test an adapted version of the Journeying through Dementia Programme for people with dementia in Canada. At the heart of the work is promotion of social participation among older adults living with the condition and their supporters.
Claire is spending her time meeting with researchers, occupational therapists, students and people living with dementia, and sharing the work. This will inform the final version of the intervention guide to be used in the trial. Wednesday will see the formal launch of the programme at a Kick-off event at the university.
