A publication by Lab4Living’s new Professor of Design, Peter Lloyd Jones, is now featured on a major US art, architecture, and design magazine website.
Parametric Architecture has reviewed as one of their book selections LabStudio: Design Research Between Architecture and Biology by Peter Lloyd Jones and Jenny E. Sabin.
The book, published by Routledge in 2017, introduces the concept of the LabStudio, a transdisciplinary design research laboratory where design is led by hypothesis, research and experiments on biology, mathematics, materials and technology, which is introduced as an alternative to the traditional design studio. It was written by architectural design Jenny E. Sabin and biologist Peter Lloyd Jones.
In January 2020 Peter Lloyd Jones joined the Lab4Living team which has expanded rapidly following last year’s large funding award from Research England’s Expanding Excellence in England (E3) programme to develop the 100-year life project. Peter is Director of PhD Studies in Lab4Living, overseeing the new cohort of PhD students. Peter’s current research is concerned with contemporary relationships between biology, medicine and design.
