Despite the restrictions of the pandemic, the Occupation Therapy (OT) team demonstrated resilience, ingenuity and determination in setting up a new face-to-face group for people with a diagnosis of dementia. The team have used the Journeying Through Dementia resources to support people to continue living well with dementia.

It’s fantastic to see the team get this recognition. This health board serves the population with the highest rate of social and economic deprivation in the country so it’s an amazing achievement.

Prof Claire Craig

For occupational therapy and Journeying Through Dementia to be recognised on such a platform is such a proud moment. I would like to thank my two highly skilled and committed occupational therapists Michelle Murray and Paula Graham for all their hard work.

Earlier this year, the team won Innovation of the Year Award at the Inverclyde HSCP Staff Awards. The Award was given in recognition of the difference their delivery of the Journeying through Dementia programme has made to the lives of people with dementia accessing the service.
