Claire Craig was invited to speak at this year’s Alzheimer Scotland conference in Edinburgh on 5th September. The theme was Prevent, Care, Cure and the conference brought together people living with dementia, supporters, health and social care practitioners, managers and policy makers. The day offered an excellent opportunity to share best practice as well as understanding some of the exciting strategic developments that are taking place in Scotland to enable people to live well with dementia.

Claire spoke in the session themed around Innovations in Dementia where she delivered a joint presentation created with Professor Elaine Hunter, Policy Lead for Alzheimer Scotland. The presentation focused on rehabilitation – a new occupational therapy pathway of diagnostic support and Elaine and Claire shared how three interventions: Journeying through Dementia, Making Sense Together and the web-platform Connecting People, Connecting Support have formed key components of the tiered approach for people living with dementia to access the expertise of Allied Health Professionals in Scotland. These have all been developed in partnership with Lab4Living.
